S.C.C. Inc. -- History

Skills for Creative Concepts (S.C.C. Inc.) In 1986 Skills for Creative Concepts(S.C.C. Inc.) was founded by John C.McCoy an engineering student of Western Washington University. Because John was involved in proprietary projects at Western, many key faculty members highly supported the establishment of S.C.C. Consequently, the establishment of S.C.C. put John in a position to negotiate business contracts that included joint patent rights with the university.

Among John's engineering projects composite bicycle, unique in many design features. After a intense negotiation & patent rights, John landed a contract to engineer and prototype the bicycle with a Japanese company.

At Western Washington University Vehicle Research Institute (VRI) John quickly established himself as an expert machinist and mechanical designer. He applied his early years of tool & die making to designing and making a 5 valve/chamber cylinder head. After designing and machining the first phase of the head, John submitted the research project to Chrysler Corp. Chrysler accepted the proposal and thus brought the first recognition from an American auto manufacture to the VRI as a viable research lab.

To help fund these projects, and support his education, John established himself as a Plastic Injection Mold Maker, Designer, and Consultant. Soon his abilities were recognized by major northwest industries and designers: Microsoft, Fluke Precor, SpaceLabs, Boeing, Augat, Maris Dental, S.W.Industries, Ocean Kayak, Paramount Plastics, Technical Molded Plastics, Myco Molding, Alsop, Blue Sea Systems, Pacific Injection Molding, Virtual Vision, Radio Path, Brainstorm Novelties, Grizzly Imports, Retro Tech and others.

In 1996, John incorporated his company, updated CNC Equipment, and built a 3000 sq. feet building. Other skilled and experienced tool makers Don Cawthorne, Bob Ham and Earle Lenning joined him and established a work corporative OMNITECH.

In 1998, seeing future of injection mold making business becoming increasingly dominated by off shore sources, John established products in Water Sports, Auto Racing, Race Motor Development, Antique Auto restoration projects, and product development & Management.

Presently, we offer diverse skills, quality products and services to our customers. Although the current competitive business environments are a challenge, our diversity, high quality services and products have given us vitality.
